I follow more than 4,500 blogs or other Web sites at the moment and have bookmarked over 15,500 pages in recent years. My rule is no feeds before 6pm, even at weekends (reading, Anki, guitar practice and either a run or pull-ups take priority in leisure time), but I can skim through a lot quite quickly, bookmarking those that might come in useful later and reading only those that are relevant to what I am doing now.
I have listed my most frequently bookmarked sites of all time (excluding scientific journals, which I should be adding to Zotero) below, in decreasing order, with some comments on each (WIP):
- GitHub: lots of interesting or relevant repos, gists, issues etc, often discovered via Track Awesome List - Track your Favorite Github Awesome List Daily
- DEV Community ??????????: site for posting pretty much anything relating to coding or software development, but mainly about web development and the cloud in my experience
- R-bloggers: aggregator for R blogs
- Explore / Twitter: I used to try to keep up to date via Twitter (and sometimes Reddit), but now prefer the much better signal-to-noise ratio of RSS feeds; people put more thought into blog posts than Tweets (or Toots as they are called on Mastodon I think); following someone on Twitter means you can read the things they say that interest you, but can also read what they think about politics, religion, sport or other wedge issues - no thanks
- Reddit - Dive into anything: I don’t have to choose between RSS feeds and Reddit, as I can follow some Reddit communities (mainly about self-hosting) via RSS feeds
- Stack Overflow - Where Developers Learn, Share, & Build Careers: another biggie; mainly bookmarked after I have Googled how to do something (i.e. a lot)
- ROBERT Stéphane - Devops: prolific French blogger who does a lot on open source cloud automation

You can follow some or all of the above via their RSS feeds - the software I use for this is mentioned here. I would share my OPML file (a file format allowing you to import/export a “blogroll” of multiple RSS feeds) but since I imported a number of OPML files shared by others, I’ve had to exclude quite a few blogs because of extreme politics, manga, gaming, fetishism, religiosity, wrong language (accidentally imported a ton of Dutch and Chinese blogs) and other reasons, and I am not sure I have extirpated all of these just yet.
